My name is Hortense. I've always been very interested in how to create a environments that support opportunity and well-being for everyone. Whether that comes from our private, public, local, national or international structures, there are so many areas of our lives that we can influence to drive positive change.

I was born and raised in France, and moved to America in 2012. This country has become my home and I became a naturalized citizen a few years ago. Since then, I've seen how divided, uncertain and fearful its people have become. I think that a big reason for that evolution is misinformation and a lack of understanding.

I hope to open up the conversation and provide a perspective that is centered on people. I believe that we are reasonable, kind beings, with common needs and feelings. In the end, people are the driving force behind progress and change. But we have to be willing to learn, listen and think.
